Knitted Gum Balls

I did post a late last year about talented knitter Christien Meindertsma and her beautiful Sea Urchin creatures. Well it seems there are now a few suppliers importing very similar designs into Australia, these are some I found a the recent trade fairs. They are now in store and measure approx 40cm in height and 40cm diameter and so very show stopping! RRP $170

Glass

One of the big trends at this years trade fairs in Sydney was vintage glass with a very apothecary influence. We have a great range coming in store from a few different suppliers around the end of April. 

Jill Bliss

Oregon based illustrator Jill Bliss takes doodling to a whole new level. I love her detail and intricacies in nature and the world around her. Her talent for interconnecting people plants and animals is breathtaking. When we owned Pulp we stocked a lot of Jill's products, since branching off into another direction we will only be stocking the divine notecards below. Enjoy!

Downtown from behind

A few years ago a colleague of my husbands quit her job as a sales rep and set off for New York to follow her dream. The idea she had at that point wasn't what she is now known for today. Bridget Fleming moved to the Lower East Side from Australia in 2008. It was there that the photographic project downtownfrombehind was born.

DFB is a photographic project capturing subjects from behind riding their bike on every street, some 200+ streets, avenues and lanes below 14th in New York City. The concept is an environmental portrait for each street and its subject. The goal to highlight a unique set of individuals who have had an impact, previously or currently on downtown New York City, making downtown what it is today.

Subjects photographed to date have included designers, musicians, artists, restaurateur, entrepreneurs, hoteliers, academics and celebrity activists.

As well as highlighting some of downtown’s most dynamic individuals in their respective fields, downtownfrombehind is passionate about sustainability and a greener environment. downtownfrombehind supports Little Ambitious; a philanthropic initiative supporting Young Designers & Inventors who are focused on green innovation that will have a positive impact on our environment. Design Will Save The World.

Sounds in the Woods

Emiliana Torrini's Fishermans Woman is so beautiful I sometimes just have it on loop for hours, but Sunny Road is by far my favourite.
